WEBSTER'S FALLS

Yesterday I woke up feeling rather spontaneous. I wanted to check out another waterfall. It was a beautiful and sunny Autumn's day and it felt like the right thing to do. I've been reading up on different waterfalls in Hamilton and wanted to give Webster's Falls a visit. I got my things ready and left the house by 12pm.

According to Google Maps, the journey should've took an 1 hour & 45 minutes. I got there 3 hours later. One bus took me downtown and then the second bus decided to go in a different route. Either that bus driver was high, or Google Maps lied to me. An hour passed and I'm still on that bus, nowhere near my destination. I looked at the Google Maps on my phone and noticed that the bus eventually started moving in the right direction.
Next, I had to do some walking. It was more like hiking. I walked uphill for a good 35 minutes to get to Webster's Falls. I had to walk on the side of the road as cars were passing me.
Once I got there, I was welcomed by a beautiful calm stream that led me to the falls. It was beautiful and I was suddenly surrounded by loads of people. Some were walking their dogs, some had strollers and a few couples were taking professional pictures by the colourful trees. As I walked across the small bridge, I started to hear the powerful sound of the waterfall. There was not a single cloud in the sky and the trees were bright as ever. Everything just looked perfect.

And finally, I saw the drop. Webster's Falls is a 22 metre waterfall found in the Spencer Gorge/Webster's Falls Conservation Area in Hamilton, Ontario.

The Webster's Falls park was surrounded by a metal black fence and with signs that said "Do not climb over." However, I wanted to find a better view so I walked around and snapped some more pictures. It looked just how it did on Google, if not, better. Autumn really is the best season.
I stood there for a good 10 minutes, looked down and noticed two young girls chilling by the falls and sitting on the rocks. There was also a man standing there with his camera. I walked around to where the fences were and thought "Why not?" and climbed over. I wanted to get closer and closer to the falls just to get a better picture. I didn't understand why it was closed in the first place because there was a staircase going down to the falls - so it seemed fairly safe for anyone.
Once I got down to the halfway point, there was a huge door in the middle of nowhere that blocked me from going down. Instead, I decided to just throw my backpack over the edge of the staircase, slide my body underneath the rails and just walk down the rocks. Before I knew it, I was standing right underneath it and I was so glad I jumped the fence.

A while later, I decided to head back before the sunset. It would've been beautiful but I had a long walk back to the bus stop and didn't want to be killed in the woods. 2 waterfalls ticked off!
