It's been quite hectic over the last few weeks. I eventually sent off my police check on the 30th of April using the premium service, meaning I could get it back in 2 working days. On top of all the stress I've had already and having to pay £90 altogether to send off a police check (knowing that they'll tell me what I already know: "You are definitely not a criminal"), I realised that it was a bank holiday weekend. Getting it back in 2 working days would've been impossible. I managed to get the police check almost a week later - on Wednesday 6th of May.

Anyway, I was on a deadline to scan the police certificate onto the online application for CIC (Citizen & Immigration Canada) within 10 days - before my Conditional Acceptance Letter (CAL) expired. I was VERY lucky to get the police certificate 2 days before the CAL due date - 8th May. As soon as I received it, I scanned and uploaded it, paid the last $100 fee and officially submitted the last application for the Work Canada Programme.

And now, I wait.

It usually takes up to 6 weeks for the Canadian Government to give you the heads up & there's a very high chance of getting a 'Yes'. As long as I didn't make any mistakes on the application forms and didn't send anything off after the deadline date, I should be fine. Something as small as a spelling mistake could result in getting my application rejected.

I'm a member of a Facebook group with over 400 people on the same boat as me. Some have sent off their application months before I did because they managed to get their visa reserved in Round 1. I got it in Round 2. We use this page for any questions we have, updates on our applications and a way of asking the programme leaders for help. A few people got their Port of Entry sent to them and are heading off to Canada already. They waited exactly 6 weeks on average ... So according to my calculations, I've got another 4 weeks to go.

I just need that final bit of patience for another month. It's hard not being able to tell many people for now... Unless they read this blog (lol). I already told my managers and work mates about my plans and they are very supportive about it which is great. I won't tell anyone else until I have a full confirmation and a visa in my hand.
